These Terms of Use govern your use of the Shell & Scale iPhone app and website. By downloading, purchasing, or using Shell & Scale, you agree to these terms.
The service
Shell & Scale is a personal weight-tracking tool that stores entries on your device and presents trends and optional companion experiences. Features may evolve as the app is improved.
Not medical advice
Shell & Scale is provided for general informational and personal tracking purposes. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Consult a qualified healthcare professional about health concerns or before making significant changes based on weight information.
Preview and paid access
The app includes seven full-access check-ins. After the preview is used, your saved history remains visible and exportable, but a paid plan is required to add or edit entries and use the complete feature set.
Subscriptions
Monthly and annual subscriptions are billed through your Apple Account and renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged within 24 hours before renewal. You can manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings. Canceling stops future renewal; access continues through the end of the paid period.
Lifetime access
Lifetime access is a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks the app for the lifetime of the product, subject to platform availability, compatibility, and these terms. It is tied to the Apple Account used for purchase and can be restored where supported by Apple.
Prices and refunds
Prices are displayed in the App Store and may vary by country or region. Apple processes all payments and refund requests under its applicable policies. Shell & Scale cannot directly issue App Store refunds.
Acceptable use
You may use Shell & Scale for lawful personal purposes. You may not attempt to interfere with the app or website, bypass purchase controls, reverse engineer protected portions except where law permits, or use the service in a way that harms others.
Your data and backups
You are responsible for your device, backups, and exported files. Although we work to make local storage reliable, no software can guarantee against every form of device loss, corruption, or deletion. Review the Privacy Policy for more information.
Availability and changes
We may update, add, remove, or discontinue features when reasonably necessary. We may also suspend access when required for security, legal compliance, or protection of the service.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shell & Scale is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Shell & Scale and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights or liabilities that cannot legally be limited.
Apple terms
Your use of the iOS app is also subject to Apple's applicable App Store terms and the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms as the service changes. Updated terms will appear on this page with a new effective date. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
